- Employment Law Expertise: Advise on Canadian employment law matters, ensuring compliance and effective risk management.
- Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Oversee disputes and litigation, protecting the company's interests both internally and externally.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay ahead of legislative changes, ensuring compliance and advising on the implementation of new regulations.
- Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing legal team, driving continuous improvement and fostering a proactive approach to legal challenges.
- Global Market Expansion: Provide strategic legal guidance and support for entry into new international markets. Ensure compliance with local laws, navigate international regulatory landscapes, and manage cross-border legal complexities to facilitate smooth and successful global expansion.
- A law degree (LL.B. or JD) with active membership in good standing with a provincial or territorial law society.
- Multiple years of experience in a law firm or in-house counsel role, particularly in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal agreements.
- Extensive knowledge of federal and provincial compliance, regulatory, and employment laws.
- Experience in international business law is preferred.
