Boom Truck Operator

Job Summary
Slegg Building Materials is seeking a skilled Boom Truck Operator to join our team in Duncan, BC. This full-time position involves operating and driving a boom truck to transport roofing and building envelope materials, ensuring safe and efficient delivery to customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and drive a boom truck to transport materials
- Complete pre-trip inspections and notify maintenance needs
- Transport loads in a professional manner, following road rules and representing the company
- Verify load security and accuracy
- Ensure cleanliness of the truck interior and exterior
- Deliver materials to customer satisfaction, prioritizing safety, service, and efficiency
- Operate the boom/mobile crane safely while loading and unloading
- Communicate with customers and other trades on construction sites
- Deliver materials by hand, maintaining a focus on safety, customer service, and efficiency
- Maintain a safe work environment and operational excellence
- Communicate with dispatch and resolve issues as they arise
- Work flexible hours to complete delivery orders
- Prepare trucks for reloading and assist warehouse staff as needed
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 driver's license with air brakes endorsement
- Level A Crane Ticket is an asset, but training will be provided
- Minimum two years of experience is an asset
- Comfortable working at heights in a harness
- Clean driver's abstract
- Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English
- Basic mechanical skills
- Physical requirements include:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs
- Sitting and driving for long periods
- Frequently climbing up and down stairs
- Pulling, pushing, bending, and torso twisting movements to transfer materials
