Job Title: Tile Setter

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team at Goodwood General Contracting. As a Tile Setter, you will be responsible for installing ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles in various settings, including residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including measuring, marking, and cleaning.
  • Mix and apply adhesives, mortars, and grouts to ensure a strong and durable bond.
  • Set tiles in place, using hand tools and power equipment to achieve precise cuts and alignments.
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings, using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Pack grout into joints and remove excess grout to create a seamless finish.
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles, ensuring a smooth and even surface.
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
  • Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets to support tile installations.
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite tiles to achieve a high-gloss finish.
  • Estimate costs and materials for tile installations, ensuring accurate and efficient project planning.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in tile setting, with a focus on ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and with heavy loads.
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
Work Environment:
  • On-site work, with frequent travel to job sites.
  • Exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental hazards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple projects and deadlines.
Language:

English is the primary language of communication in this role.
