Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our Telehealth & Innovation Deployment, Education & Sustainment (TIDES) team at Squamish Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Work as a member of the TIDES Rehabilitation Team to provide quality patient/client-focused services in acute and community settings.
- Under the operational supervision of the Director/Manager, practice supervision of the OT/PT/SLP Practice Coordinators/Lead, and the work direction of the TIDES OT/PT/SLP, carry out established rehabilitation activities within the OT/PT/SLP scope of practice.
- Responsibilities include receiving assignments and implementing lower risk interventions related to the clinical aspects of the OT, PT and/or SLP care plans, demonstrating and teaching activities, adapting devices to enable maximum potential for independence, and assisting with practicing daily living skills.
- Responsible for Telehealth scheduling, set-up, and tasks assigned by the TIDES OT/PT/SLP in person and/or via Telehealth technologies.
- Report relevant observations of patient/client progress and behaviours.
- Provide direction to volunteers, organize equipment and supplies for activities, organize and clean equipment, and maintain established inventory of supplies.
The TIDES Rural/Remote Rehab Team combines virtual service with in-person care to provide services to clients living with various neurological conditions.
- Stroke or Transient Ischaemic Attacks (TIA)
- Acquired Brain Injury
- Spinal Cord Injury
- Concussion (non-sports related)
- Progressive Neurological Disorders
- Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program
- Valid BC Driver's License is required
