About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As an Environmental Services Worker, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and functional environment for patients, families, staff, and visitors.

Your responsibilities will include cleaning all units as assigned, including patient rooms and public areas. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Mopping, dusting, and vacuuming furniture, floors, and stairways
  • Buffing, scrubbing, and refinishing floors
  • Moving and arranging furniture
  • Changing curtains and drapes

In addition to your physical duties, you will also be responsible for ensuring that the principles and practices that guide our work are integrated within the services you provide. This includes promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Grade 12 education or equivalent work experience
  • A commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety, ethical practices, and organizational health
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Travel to other sites may be required; access to a reliable vehicle is necessary
  • Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred

Please note that this is a casual relief position, and you will be required to work variable hours.

Compensation and Incentives

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $19.26-$20.02 per hour. If you have the skills and qualifications we're looking for, please submit your application.
