About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Track Design to join our Specialized Delivery – Track department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of OnCorr construction and maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with Metrolinx policies, procedures, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the detailed design management activities for the Specialized Delivery Track portfolio, reviewing plans, schedules, and budget documents to ensure optimal coordination of projects throughout the network.
  • Manage Track related technical issues and risks, facilitating effective conflict resolution and communication with intra-agency divisions, external contracted partners, and stakeholders.
  • Review consultant proposals and develop recommendations for proposed projects consistent with strategic plan and business objectives.
  • Own, oversee, and direct reviews for the acceptance or rejection of proposed deviations and non-compliances with respect to relevant technical and engineering standards.
  • Monitor the progress of all assigned objectives and deliverables to ensure that planning objectives are delivered on time and within budget and that anticipated business results are achieved.
Requirements
  • University Degree in Engineering, Architecture, and/or rail sector and related industry experience, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in a track program/project management, engineering, and/or delivery, testing, and commissioning, operations, and maintenance of railway transit systems or related industries.
  • Experience with project management principles and practices, including budget and schedule controls, to lead and direct cross-functional teams and consultants engaged in simultaneous projects.
  • Knowledgeable in the oversight, evaluation, and assurance of system integration to achieve performance metrics, develop and realize KPIs for track or system-wide function for reliability, availability, and performance requirements consistent with the organizational strategic plan, customer level of service, and business objectives.
  • Industry regulatory requirements (COR Certification/MTO/Transport Canada)
