ML6 Search + Talent Advisory is seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our client\u2019s Small Buildings Division in Kitchener. As a key member of the team, you will lead structural analysis and design efforts for various building types, including single-family and multi-residential dwellings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead structural analysis and design for small building projects, ensuring compliance with the Ontario Building Code (Part 9).
  • Collaborate with engineers, trainees, and technologists to develop and review structural designs and drawing packages.
  • Seal your work and oversee the work of designers under your direction, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Conduct site investigations, structural evaluations, and construction reviews, preparing field review reports.
  • Prepare AutoCAD drawings from sketches, mark-ups, and design concepts, adhering to company standards.
  • Manage project tasks within assigned time and budget constraints, ensuring timely completion.
  • Stay updated with current techniques, codes, and standards to maintain and improve technical skills.
  • Research new systems, resources, and processes to increase efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Coordinate with other team members across various projects to meet project milestones.
  • Accept technical guidance from senior staff and collaborate in a team environment from preliminary design stages through to project completion.
  • Ensure coordination of structural aspects with other discipline designs and drawings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor\u2019s degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited Canadian University.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
  • 4+ years of experience in structural engineering related to building design, with a focus on wood frame construction.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code (specifically Part 9).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office 365 Suite; experience with Woodworks is an asset.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers.
  • Strong understanding of construction materials and practices; construction work experience is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Access to a vehicle for site reviews and inspections.
