Job Summary

Spacesaver Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team. As a key member of our organization, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, managing financial reporting processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations: Participate in the day-to-day accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Payroll and Compliance: Ensure payroll, T4's, ROE, vacation calculations are processed in a timely manner and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Canadian ASPE.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Financial Planning: Assist with the annual budgeting process and prepare regular forecasts to support financial planning and decision making.
  • External Audits: Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and address any audit findings or recommendations.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
  • Cash Flow Management: Prepare and monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business growth opportunities.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve accounting and financial processes to support organizational growth.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Designation: CPA designation preferred or working towards designation is mandatory.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance role.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of Canadian ASPE and financial accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, experience with ADP system preferred.
  • Environment: Experience working within a multi-entity environment.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and people skills, meticulous with a commitment to accuracy and compliance, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
