Accounting Manager

Spacesaver Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting, managing financial reporting processes, managing payroll, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for all corporate entities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in day-to-day accounting department activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions, including invoicing, billing, and expense management.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Canadian ASPE.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Assist with annual budgeting process and prepare regular forecasts to support financial planning and decision making.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and address any audit findings or recommendations.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business growth opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • CPA designation preferred or working towards designation is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian ASPE and financial accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ADP system preferred.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity environment.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Meticulous with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment.
