We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of:

Manager of HSE, VHNA

This role is based in Oakville, Ontario, and involves working with our team to develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Set up and audit inspection programs to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics
  • Manage and coach Site Safety Officers and Safety Supervisors
  • Audit, train, and support construction project startups on site with site safety officers

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, and Environment or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to communicate in French
  • Fluent in English mandatory
  • Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet and interface with customers and work to resolve issues and accomplish tasks between internal and external customers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Availability to travel 50% of the time, and sometimes for a week at a time
