Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Groupe Voith. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety plans, ensuring compliance with legal guidelines, and promoting a culture of health and safety within the workplace.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
- Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
- Set up and audit inspection programs to observe possible unsafe conditions
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker's compensation claims
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics
- Manage and coach Site Safety Officers and Safety Supervisors
- Audits, training, and support of construction project startups on site with site safety officers
- Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety, and Environment or equivalent work experience
- Ability to communicate in French
- Fluent in English mandatory
- Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to meet and interface with customers and work to resolve issues and accomplish tasks between internal and external customers
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Availability to travel 50% of the time, and sometimes for a week at a time
