Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Concurrent Disorder Counsellor to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). As a key member of our Forensic Psychiatric Services team, you will provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments and treatment services to adults experiencing severe psychiatric and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and develop treatment plans
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapies to address concurrent disorders and promote recovery
  • Collaborate with treatment teams to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans
  • Document and chart patient progress and involvement in concurrent disorders programs
  • Develop community substance abuse treatment plans for patients upon release and provide outreach dual diagnosis treatment and support services

Requirements

  • Master's degree in an Allied Health Discipline from a recognized program
  • Three (3) years recent related experience in an addictions and mental health setting, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Valid BC Drivers License
