Job Summary
:Parsons Corporation is seeking a skilled Environmental Project Manager/Scientist Lead to lead contaminated sites and remediation projects. This role involves project management, coordinating investigations, and preparing reports for environmental site investigations, excess soil planning, and remediation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities for this position include project management, coordinating investigations, and preparing reports for environmental site investigations, excess soil planning, and remediation projects. Specific job responsibilities include:
- Provide technical leadership in the design and project management of contaminated sites, remediation, and infrastructure projects, including investigations, remediation design, and excess soil planning, investigation, and management.
- Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments to CSA and O.Reg. 153/04 requirements;
- Remedial design and site remediation oversight: including excavations, ISCO, bioremediation, permeable and impermeable barriers, and mechanical technologies (air sparge, pump and treat, dual phase extraction, etc.), sediment remediation, mine closures;
- Excess soil and waste management on infrastructure projects, contributing to planning and design inputs as per O.Reg. 406/19;
- Peer review of technical documents and reports;
- Design support of infrastructure projects (roads/highways, transit, bridges, EAs, sewers/watermains) from a waste/contamination and excess soil perspective;
- Support business development activities, including proposal preparation on major and minor pursuits;
- Project management and coordination: ESA and remediation-related projects, tracking and maintaining budgets and project finances, preparing reports, maintaining client relationships in various industries, liaising and supporting other engineering disciplines; the primary point of contact with clients, junior staff, and other project managers.
Required Skills:
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following skills:
- Bachelor's degree in earth sciences, environmental/chemical/geological engineering, or similar programs;
- 5+ years of consulting experience at an engineering firm with strong experience in applicable federal and provincial environmental laws and regulations within a Canadian (preferably Ontario) jurisdiction;
- 2+ years managing contaminated sites projects with consulting values over $100K and/or as a project manager or technical designer;
- Technically strong with advance knowledge of environmental site assessments, excess soil planning, and various remediation approaches;
- Experience working with diverse multidiscipline and/or international project teams;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Financially literate from a project management perspective;
- Track record of delivering high-quality work products.
