Job Summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a highly skilled Principal Product Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design of our cloud-based platforms and ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of usability and accessibility.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design systems, with experience managing and contributing to design standards across multiple products and technology stacks. You will be responsible for crafting, launching, and maintaining design standards and systems at scale in complex organizations.

We are looking for a designer who is passionate about creating intuitive and user-friendly experiences, with a strong understanding of visual language and art direction. You will be working closely with our product designers, technical architects, and other stakeholders to create blueprints for design teams to work from.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality design solutions, with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design. You will be responsible for developing and executing robust content strategy, terminology alignment, and UI taxonomy for all products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design of cloud-based platforms and ensure that products meet the highest standards of usability and accessibility
  • Manage and contribute to design systems, with experience in design standards across multiple products and technology stacks
  • Craft, launch, and maintain design standards and systems at scale in complex organizations
  • Work closely with product designers, technical architects, and other stakeholders to create blueprints for design teams to work from
  • Develop and execute robust content strategy, terminology alignment, and UI taxonomy for all products
  • Deliver high-quality design solutions with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience with design systems or experience design standards across multiple products and technology stacks
  • 10+ years working in SaaS cloud-based platform design experience
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality design solutions with a strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design
  • Front-end foundational expertise - understanding of HTML, CSS, JS, and component frameworks
  • Understanding of visual language and art direction
  • Strong written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
