Job Summary

The Fish Processing Labourer will be responsible for performing various tasks related to fish processing, including unloading fish and shellfish from fishing vessels, transporting them to the work area, and operating machinery to clean, cut, and process fish and seafood products.

Responsibilities
  • Unload fish and shellfish from fishing vessels and transport them to the work area
  • Operate machinery to clean, cut, and process fish and seafood products
  • Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination
  • Apply chemicals and operate cleaning machines
  • Record production information and check products for defects
  • Transport items throughout the plant using powered equipment
Requirements
  • Experience in fish processing or a related field is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and handle heavy loads
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
Work Environment

The Fish Processing Labourer will work in a noisy, dusty, and physically demanding environment with exposure to hot and cold temperatures. The work site may be outdoors, and the labourer may be required to work in a refrigerated area.
