Environmental Consultant/Spill Response Specialist

Ambipar Response | Canada is seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant/Spill Response Specialist to join our team in Edmonton, Grande Prairie, and Lloydminster. This is a 70-80% field-based position that requires travel throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and northeast B.C.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emergency spill response services, including coordination of contractors, initial containment and recovery, site assessment, data collection, soil and/or water sampling, and technical report writing.
- Communicate field observations and project status updates to direct supervisors and project specialists.
- Ensure all work activities are accurately documented and uploaded to project files.
- Adhere to and be accountable for technical and financial project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and remain current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates.
- Degree (or Diploma) in Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.
- Experience working with strong safety standards and culture.
- Class 5 Driver's License.
- Professional designation or the ability to acquire a professional designation (e.g., registered professional Biologist, Agrologist, Forester, Geoscientist, Chemist, Engineer, or Technologist).
- Current safety certification (H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance Level II, Standard First Aid, Common Safety Orientation, Construction Safety Training Systems, Bear Awareness).
- Formal training in Incident Command System, spill response, emergency management, boat operation, outdoor pursuits, and/or environmental assessment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team player, leader, and positive attitude.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Outdoor skills required to work proficiently in a remote field environment.
- General understanding of applicable provincial and federal environmental regulations.
- Experience with environmental laboratory data interpretation.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
