Job Title: Associate Dean, Indigenous Studies

Confederation College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Associate Dean, Indigenous Studies. This position plays a critical role in advancing Indigenous postsecondary education and applied research at the College.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and strategic planning to advance Indigenous postsecondary education and applied research at the College.
  • Collaborate with the Academic Leadership Team to design and implement college-wide and divisional goals and objectives.
  • Oversee Indigenous Academic Programming and identify new Indigenous programming opportunities.
  • Facilitate relationships internally across the institution and externally with Indigenous communities and organizations.
  • Work with the Vice-President Indigenous Leadership, Partnerships and Strategies to support the College's Indigenous initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate degree in Indigenous Studies or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Indigenous education leadership or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and contemporary issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations.
  • Knowledge of government funding opportunities and budget development.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively resolve conflict issues.
