About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Support Worker to join our team at Beatriz Studer. As a Home Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients in their own homes.

Responsibilities
  • Administer bedside and personal care to clients, ensuring their dignity and comfort are maintained at all times.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals, following strict protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Encourage clients to engage in regular exercise, such as walking, to maintain physical and mental well-being.
  • Plan and prepare therapeutic diets and menus, taking into account clients' dietary needs and preferences.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, helping to alleviate feelings of loneliness and isolation.
  • Provide personal care, including assistance with daily living activities, such as dressing and grooming.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
  • Mental health first aid Certificate.
  • Ability to lift and move clients safely, with weights between 45 and 60 kg (99-132 lbs) and 61 and 80 kg (134-176 lbs).
Work Environment

Our clients live in non-smoking environments, and we require our Home Support Workers to respect this policy.

Work Term and Hours

This is a permanent position, working 35 hours per week. The work language is English.
