Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services is dedicated to delivering exceptional Child Protection Services in collaboration with seven member First Nations within the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin. The Jordan's Principle Service Coordinator plays a pivotal role as a focal point for children and families we serve. This position involves service coordination and planning in conjunction with agency personnel related to children in care and those not under our agency's care.

We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill this position, which requires:

  • A university degree or college diploma in a field related to Human Services, Education, or Social Work
  • Minimum one year of direct service experience with children and families
  • Experience working with Indigenous people, organizations, and communities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing Jordan's Principle documentation related to service accessibility from an agency perspective
  • Familiarizing themselves with agency and Jordan's Principle service workflow processes and making recommendations for improvement
  • Developing and submitting agency Jordan's Principle reporting templates based on budget and service needs
  • Collaborating with service teams to identify unmet needs and lead completion of Jordan's Principle applications
  • Working with external service providers and First Nations to secure supporting documentation for applications
  • Empowering advocacy and assisting families in navigating the Jordan's Principle application process

This role also involves participating in internal or external committees, liaising with communities served, service providers, collateral agencies, and organizations, and providing education sessions to agency staff on Jordan's Principle.

We offer a competitive salary range estimated at $65,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience, plus benefits. The work environment may occasionally involve exposure to traditional practices, including wood smoke and sacred medicines.
