Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Livestock Production Assistant to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of pig production, including feeding and general care, maintaining herd health and environment, and performing various maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with daily feeding and care of pigs
  • Maintain herd health and environment by following established protocols and procedures
  • Perform pressure washing and cleaning tasks as required
  • Contribute to general maintenance and upkeep of the facility
  • Carry out clerical duties, including inventory tracking and ordering supplies
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in animal science or related field an asset
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing circumstances
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. A valid driver's license and willingness to operate company vehicles are also required.

Compensation:

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary in the range of $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
