We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Supervisor to join our dynamic team at GFL Environmental. As a Field Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our environmental remediation and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact on-site for all assigned projects, ensuring seamless communication and coordination with team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve safety performance, identifying and mitigating potential risks to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Conduct job task assessments, field-level hazard assessments, and assist in the development of safe work procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Report all incidents, safety infractions, and non-compliance issues, participating in investigations and developing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Ensure on-site operations are conducted in accordance with corporate policies, procedures, and permit conditions, meeting customer specifications and project targets.
  • Supervise daily activities, ensuring project targets are met, and assist with estimating project costs for tender purposes.
  • Develop and execute work plans to keep projects on schedule and on budget, collaborating with the project management team to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Assist with project planning and scheduling, working under the guidance of the manager to ensure timely completion of projects.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in a technical field is an asset.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years in a supervisory role is an asset.
  • Previous experience working in an industrial setting, project management, and estimating is required.
  • Previous experience with waste disposal and/or environmental remediation, on-site water treatment, civil construction, and demolition is considered an asset.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently, with strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS Project.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with strict deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities, with a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to anticipate, investigate, research, and analyze challenging and unique problems, and to resolve or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
  • Overnight travel as required, with a valid driver's license.
