Job Title: Director, Total Rewards

Modern Niagara is seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Total Rewards to lead and manage our compensation, benefits, payroll, and HRIS functions. This role is critical in shaping and implementing a comprehensive Total Rewards strategy that supports our business objectives and drives employee engagement and retention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a competitive compensation framework, including base salary structures, annual incentive plans, and executive compensation.
  • Conduct regular market analysis and benchmarking to ensure the competitiveness of our compensation packages.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health and wellness, retirement plans, and pension plans.
  • Evaluate existing benefit programs and recommend enhancements to ensure alignment with employee needs and market trends.
  • Manage relationships with benefit vendors and brokers to optimize services and costs.
  • Oversee the payroll function to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Implement payroll best practices and leverage technology to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead the development, enhancement, and optimization of the HRIS to improve data integrity, reporting capabilities, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to ensure the HRIS is fully leveraged to support HR processes and analytics.
  • Partner with the VP of People and Culture and other senior leaders to align Total Rewards strategies with broader organizational objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of HR professionals in the compensation, benefits, payroll, and HRIS areas.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in total rewards, including compensation, benefits, payroll, and HRIS.
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in designing and managing compensation frameworks, incentive plans, and benefits programs.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and HRIS systems, with experience in system implementation and/or optimization.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing compensation, benefits, and payroll.
