Development Review Technician

About the Role
The City of Brantford is seeking a highly skilled Development Review Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing engineering plans and reports for minor development applications, ensuring compliance with municipal and provincial regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating, reviewing, and providing comments on technical submissions site plans;
- Providing comments on Committee of Adjustment applications, including land severances, rezoning, and minor variances;
- Ensuring municipal infrastructure is coordinated with adjacent developments;
- Reviewing plot plans for new residential houses within infill and new subdivision developments;
- Carrying out background research, maintaining databases, and assisting with the development and updating of policies, procedures, and technical standards for development-related municipal servicing and infrastructure;
- Responding to requests and/or attending meetings organized by the offices of the Mayor and Members of Council, other departments, developers, consultants, and the public and external agencies as required;
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess a two-year community college diploma in Civil Engineering Technician or equivalent education and three years of experience in Engineering Design with a focus on municipal servicing, stormwater management, and road design, preferably in a municipal setting.
