We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Device Reprocessing Specialist to join our team at Royal Columbian Hospital.
Job Summary
This is a challenging role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. As a Medical Device Reprocessing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of medical devices to prevent infection and promote patient safety.
Responsibilities
As a Medical Device Reprocessing Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing medical devices using various equipment and techniques;
- Maintaining accurate records of device processing and inventory management;
- Collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure timely delivery of processed devices;
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives to optimize reprocessing procedures;
- Providing exceptional customer service and responding to inquiries from healthcare staff.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A high school diploma or equivalent;
- Completion of a recognized Sterile Supply Processing program;
- At least one year of recent experience in medical device reprocessing or a related field;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Able to work independently and as part of a team;
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions
This role requires working in a busy hospital environment with exposure to chemicals, disinfectants, and other cleaning agents. You must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Salary
The salary for this role is approximately $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
