Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada is seeking a Part Time Intervenor to support individuals who are deafblind. As a Part Time Intervenor, you will play a vital role in enabling individuals who are deafblind to live independently and participate fully in their communities.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting individuals who are deafblind in their daily lives, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Using communication techniques to relay information and facilitate communication between individuals who are deafblind and their support networks.
- Empowering individuals who are deafblind to participate and be successful in all aspects of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, volunteerism, and more.
- Providing personal care as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, medication administration, and more.
- Assisting with developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
- Assisting with program development and implementation.
- Ensuring documentation and records are complete and accurate.
- Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program, or a related human services field.
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
- Communication in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
- A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.
