Job Title: Part Time Intervenor to Support People Who Are Deafblind

Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada is seeking a Part Time Intervenor to support individuals who are deafblind. As a Part Time Intervenor, you will play a vital role in enabling individuals who are deafblind to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting individuals who are deafblind in their daily lives, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Using communication techniques to relay information and facilitate communication between individuals who are deafblind and their support networks.
  • Empowering individuals who are deafblind to participate and be successful in all aspects of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning, volunteerism, and more.
  • Providing personal care as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, personal hygiene, medication administration, and more.
  • Assisting with developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
  • Assisting with program development and implementation.
  • Ensuring documentation and records are complete and accurate.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program, or a related human services field.
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Communication in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
  • A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.
