Job Overview

Brandt, a leading provider of heavy duty equipment solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Service Operations Manager to join our Halifax Construction & Forestry team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the sales and delivery of after-market support services, including component diagnostics, repair, and replacement. This includes managing all aspects of the service department and day-to-day activities of foremen, leadmen, service writers, and shop, field, and resident heavy duty mechanics.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service workflow efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to established standards, policies, and reporting practices
  • Manage the Service Department budget to meet financial and operational goals
  • Pprepare quotes for customer work orders and open/close work orders in a timely manner
  • Conduct on-site inspections and diagnostics as required
  • Maintain accurate records of service revenue and expenses
  • Implement and maintain high-performance safety standards and industry best practices
  • Evaluate employee performance against set goals and objectives
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment through effective coaching, mentoring, and performance management

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers, employees, and branch personnel at all levels
  • Self-motivated and committed to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Able to travel to customer sites and work safely around heavy equipment as required
  • Proficient in using relevant desktop applications and web-based productivity tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and resolve complex issues
  • A valid driver's abstract is mandatory

Preferred Experience

  • A minimum of 5-7 years' progressive experience in service, management, and business, preferably in the heavy duty equipment industry
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a team and achieving operational goals
  • Demonstrated expertise in the operation of a heavy duty equipment dealership
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
  • Strong customer focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver's abstract and willingness to travel to customer sites

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience. The exact salary will be discussed during the interview process.
