About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Marketing & Product Officer, AGF Investments is seeking a seasoned Chief Investment Product Strategist to lead the execution of our ambitious product development and management strategy. This role will focus on the further expansion of our private and liquid alternatives solutions as well as the continued evolution of our global equity and fixed income offerings in all jurisdictions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee investment products research, peer and landscape analysis for AGF, developing new product ideas as we look to grow our offerings globally for all lines of business.
  • Develop and present business cases for new investment products including competitor analysis, market intelligence and sizing.
  • Advise the business on optimal product structures and characteristics for distribution globally, considering vehicle structures and regulatory regimes.
  • Collaborate with Product Operations and Governance to manage the execution of launches from business acceptance through to delivery, effectively partnering with senior Operations, Finance, Distribution and Marketing stakeholders to drive implementation.
  • Oversee strategic product restructuring initiatives.
  • Serve as the senior member of the team, including management of junior/mid-level team members.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams across the business.
  • Participate in various industry body working groups and actively engage with industry associations.

Your Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in investment product development and/or global product structuring, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in structuring alternative investment solutions (private and/or liquid).
  • Knowledge of Canadian, U.S. and Europe-domiciled investment product related vehicles, including a working knowledge of investment strategies and styles employed by fixed income, equity and alternative portfolio managers.
  • Knowledge of pool fund trusts, limited partnerships, LLCs, offshore feeders, UCITs is preferred.
  • Understanding of operational aspects of alternative product development, such as capital call process, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of investment industry services and distribution channels.
  • People management experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with teams across the organization, excellent interpersonal skills, working effectively with individuals across cultures, functions and levels of seniority.
  • An undergraduate degree is required, and CFA, MBA or Masters in Finance or Economics, CAIA are considered assets.
