Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and quantity of food supplies meet the needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and prepare food according to standardized recipes and production sheets.
  • Assist the Food Services Manager in their absence, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
  • Monitor food supplies and recommend corrective action when necessary.
  • Coach Dietary Aides in food preparation procedures and serving activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must meet one of the following qualification scenarios:

  • Hold a Chef training or culinary management certificate/diploma from a recognized program.
  • Be certified as a Cook by an authority meeting the requirements of the Ontario Long Term Care Act.
  • Hold a post-secondary diploma in food and nutrition management or a post-secondary degree in food and nutrition.
