Job Title: Social Work Faculty Position

We are seeking a qualified individual to teach a course in social work with families at McMaster University.

Course Description:

This course will examine and apply family theory and practice models, including a critical look at societal definitions of and expectations for families.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum MSW, PhD in progress or completed preferred
  • Experience required in direct practice and commitment to the School's philosophical approach to social work
  • Previous experience in teaching/TA'ing and in field instruction in the subject area would be an asset
Job Details:

This is a sessional faculty position, and the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a course in social work with families.

The course will be offered in the Fall/Winter session, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach a total of 3 units per section.

The projected enrollment for this course is 65-70 students, and the successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and implementing a course syllabus, as well as assessing student learning and providing feedback.

The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with other faculty members and staff to ensure the success of the course and the students.

The successful candidate will also be expected to adhere to the School's philosophical approach to social work and to promote a culture of inclusivity and respect in the classroom.

The successful candidate will be paid according to the CUPE 3906 Unit 2 Collective Agreement, and will be eligible for supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule C of the Collective Agreement.
