Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure timely and effective emergency intake processes for new residents.
  2. Provide expert support and guidance to clients on daily living issues, using evidence-based practices to promote positive outcomes.
  3. Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized service plans that meet the unique needs of each client.
  4. Maintain accurate and detailed records of client progress, including notes and reports as required.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement strategies for addressing key issues and concerns within the shelter community.
  6. Identify and report potential maintenance issues to the Maintenance Worker, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing disruption to shelter operations.
  7. Monitor and enforce adherence to shelter policies and procedures, including those related to visitor access and prohibited items.
  8. Participate in ongoing professional development, including mandatory training sessions, to enhance your skills and knowledge in delivering high-quality client services.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably within the non-profit sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to manage complex situations effectively.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and lifting (up to 25 pounds).
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
