  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve issues or violations related to building codes and standards.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on inspections, code compliance, and enforcement actions.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with changes in building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Interagency Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the public, construction professionals, and municipal authorities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and supervise a team of building officials, ensuring effective and efficient performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Relevant certification or diploma in Building Inspection, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in building inspection, construction, or a related role, with a proven track record in compliance and enforcement.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
  • Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders. Leadership experience with the ability to manage and mentor a team. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
