Clerical Support Associate - Oncology Day Care

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerical Support Associate to join our Oncology Day Care team at Humber River Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional clerical support, ensuring seamless patient registration, appointment scheduling, and record maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support, including patient registration, appointment scheduling, and record maintenance, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to registration standards and data quality.
  • Support care team members in data collection processes required by Ontario Health Cancer Care Ontario.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Community College Medical Secretary Diploma an asset.
  • Completion of a medical terminology course preferred.
  • Minimum 2 year full time equivalent recent clerical experience required, preferably in an ambulatory oncology setting.
  • Good keyboarding skills, with minimum typing speed of 40 WPM.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Meditech's Oncology Module and Community Wide Scheduling experience is preferred.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills required, including an ability to prioritize a varied and busy workload.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of a second language an asset.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.
