Role Overview:
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Marketplace team, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at optimizing business operations within our Marketplace. Your responsibilities will include designing data analytics frameworks, constructing data pipelines, and establishing metric governance systems that our leadership utilizes for strategic decision-making. You will work closely with business leaders and data scientists to drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the strategic roadmap and architecture aligned with technological and business objectives.
- Develop high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Articulate and analyze the trade-offs involved in technical decisions.
- Engage in code reviews to uphold code quality and facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Lead projects from conception through successful implementation.
- Consider business context and potential failure modes in your technical work.
- Actively participate in resolving ongoing technical incidents.
- Support and communicate effectively across teams to achieve project goals.
- Share expertise through presentations and discussions on best practices in technology and engineering.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering with proficiency in a high-level programming language (experience with Python or Go is advantageous).
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt when faced with ambiguous problems outside your expertise.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to advocate for your ideas while understanding team priorities.
- Experience in defining API schemas and developing backend services in a microservices architecture.
- A track record of assisting colleagues to enhance their productivity.
