Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct care to critically ill patients, working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent physical assessment skills, good communication skills (both written and verbal), problem-solving ability, and crisis intervention skills. They will also have a strong commitment to providing patient-centered care and a willingness to work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

Salary Range: $39.07 - $56.00

This is a part-time position that requires the nurse to work 12-hour shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and statutory holidays. The nurse will be responsible for providing patient care within the framework of the Registered Nurse role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to critically ill patients
  • Work in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel
  • Contribute to ensuring a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Perform various tasks, including sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and bending

Requirements:

  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses in Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse in good standing required
  • Diploma or Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required
  • Two (2) years' of current experience in ICU required
  • BCLS, ACLS required
  • Certifications for ECG, defibrillation, intravenous certification, IV medication, epidural, and pulmonary artery monitoring required
  • Critical Care Program certificate required
  • Excellent physical assessment skills required
  • Good communication skills (both written and verbal) essential
  • Problem-solving ability and crisis intervention skills required
  • Keyboarding skills and knowledge of Meditech and OmniCell would be a definite asset
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis is required
