Job Summary

The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Research Technician II to join our team at the Princess Margaret Genomics Centre. As a Research Technician II, you will be responsible for performing genomics library preparation, including RNA, whole genome, and exome library production. You will also be involved in onboarding samples from clients, communicating with them, and ensuring the quality of the final products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform genomics library preparation, including RNA, whole genome, and exome library production
  • Onboard samples from clients and communicate with them
  • Ensure the quality of the final products
  • Work under the direction of senior staff to follow SOPs and meet target deadlines

Requirements

  • BSc in genomics, molecular biology, or a related discipline
  • 3 years of related experience
  • At least 1 year of experience with standard molecular biology laboratory techniques
  • Experience with using LIMS is an asset
  • Experience with Illumina DNA sequencing library construction workflows is an asset
