Job Summary:

The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled Research Technician II to join our team at the Princess Margaret Genomics Centre. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing genomics library preparation, including RNA, whole genome, and exome library production. You will also be involved in the onboarding of samples from clients, communication with clients, and RNA-seq library production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform genomics library preparation, including RNA, whole genome, and exome library production
  • Onboard samples from clients and communicate with clients
  • Produce RNA-seq libraries
  • Construct whole genome and exome libraries
  • Perform DNA epigenetic profiling library construction
  • Conduct input sample QC using BioAnalyzer, Nanodrop, and fluorimetry
  • Perform final library QC using BioAnalyzer
  • Enter sample and library information into LIMS

Requirements:

  • BSc in genomics, molecular biology, or related discipline
  • 3 years of related experience
  • At least 1 year of experience with standard molecular biology laboratory techniques
  • Experience with LIMS is an asset
  • Experience with Illumina DNA sequencing library construction workflows is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and accurately under deadlines
  • Meticulous and detail-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment
