Job Summary

As a consultant, you'll develop and deliver customized solutions to meet client needs, including creating 'leader standard work' for managers, supervisors, and leads, and training management on effective workforce management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with clients to understand their business needs and build strong relationships.
  • Identify problems, challenges, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop performance metrics and reports to represent current and desired states.
  • Create opportunity hypotheses and proposed solutions.
  • Develop and evaluate alternative strategies to achieve specific savings objectives.
  • Collaborate with clients to define requirements for tools, systems, and processes, and provide implementation oversight.
  • Create and utilize workplans to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Present effective recommendations, proposals, reports, and formal presentations to client management and implementation teams.
  • Develop and support productive client relationships.
  • Work in a hands-on mode until potential alternatives are exhausted and future state procedural workstreams are in place.
  • Interact with peers to foster your support network and empower career development.
  • Manage project resources in a team environment.
  • Mentor, train, and lead team members.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Must be open to traveling to client sites in Quebec, Canada, every week.
  • 5+ years of management consulting, advisory, manufacturing, industry, and/or direct supervisory experience, including coaching, mentorship, and performance management in industrial shop-floor settings.
  • Proven Production Operations experience, including shop floor control.
  • Proven critical thinking skills in data collection and complex analysis, with the ability to show data gaps and risks, develop sound conclusions, and create implementable and sustainable recommendations.
  • Demonstrated skills using statistical analytical Excel-based tools to drive objective decisions and create solutions.
  • Proven experience and capabilities in implementation and change management resulting in sustainable solutions.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset to collaborate with project team members/clients to design and implement effective solutions to complex business problems.
  • Excellent French and English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create communications that 'tell the story' and deliver presentations in a customer-facing forum.
  • Excellent skills across the entire Microsoft Office Suite, with a major focus on Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Plus, proven knowledge in the following areas of specialty:
  • Production: Master Scheduling/Capacity Planning, ERP-based modules, sales and operations planning, productivity and layout assessment, Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement, performance management, change management, and quality management.
  • Inventory Management: detailed analysis of inventory data, targets, and achieving inventory reductions.
  • Management Operating Systems (MOS): intimate familiarity with shop-floor-control systems and processes focused on improving productivity, efficiency, and quality performance, as well as the ability to develop and implement metrics, report cards, and dashboards.
  • Excellent communications and selling skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at the C-suite level as well as with front-line managers and workers.
