Grounds Maintenance Specialist

We are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our Residential team in Grande Prairie, AB. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure that Northview's buildings show pride of ownership and respect for our residents by maintaining the grounds and buildings in good repair, with pleasant curb appeal.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the safety of common areas and complying with Northern Property REIT's Health and Safety requirements
  • Maintaining lawns, shrubs, trees, and flower beds, including pruning, raking, mowing grass, fertilizing, and weeding control
  • Moving furniture, equipment, materials, and supplies, including clearing vacant suites as necessary, loading and unloading materials, and delivering to properties
  • Snow removal and ice control from all entrances, exits, and walkways as required
  • Delivery of notices to building residents and posting of notices in common areas where applicable
  • Maintaining clean vacant lots and keeping grounds free of debris
  • Maintaining tools and equipment
  • Maintaining company vehicles where applicable
  • Assisting with suite renovations and other upgrades
  • Resident Services and assistance as required, maintaining good resident relations
  • Assisting with the implementation of preventative maintenance programs
  • Other duties relating to the upkeep of buildings and grounds as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working outdoors doing manual labor in diverse weather conditions is an asset
  • Proven ability to work productively and safely while under pressure, with good time management
  • Previous training or experience using Bobcat equipment is an asset, but not required
  • Good customer service skills and a pleasant demeanor, with the ability to speak and write English
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work weekends if necessary
