Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized Pharmacy Assistant to join our team at Central Production Pharmacy. The successful candidate will be responsible for packaging, distributing, shipping medications, and managing medication inventory levels under the general supervision of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.

About the Role

The Pharmacy Assistant will perform all wardstock functions, including packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals according to established procedures. They will also assist pharmacy technicians with non-sterile components of sterile pharmaceutical product preparation, fill wardstock orders, and pick and receive pharmacy inventory and supplies according to established quotas and procedures.

  • Monitor pharmacy inventory and supplies for outdated products
  • Charge and credit medications per established procedure
  • Print and distribute reports from the pharmacy computer system
  • Complete records and filing associated with all duties
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Graduate of a recognized pharmacy assistant program and/or 6 months Recent Retail or hospital Pharmacy experience acceptable to the employer required
Preferred Qualifications

We would love to hear from candidates who possess:

  • Knowledge of various office equipment, unit dose packaging equipment, and pharmaceutical compounding equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy Drug Formulary preferred
  • Fluency in the English language (written and verbal)
Working Conditions

This role requires:

  • Ability to stand and or sit for long periods at a time
  • Ability to work with arms extended for sustained periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and occasionally 50 lb., push/pull carts, repetitive bending

We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on experience.
