Salary

The salary for this position is based on the current Senior Medical and Dental Officer collective agreement, with a competitive annual package ranging from NZD $180,000 to NZD $250,000, depending on skills, experience, and vocational registration in NZ.


Job Description

We seek an experienced Clinical Addiction Specialist to join our department of Mental Health & Addiction Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide addiction medicine services to patients with alcohol and drug use disorder, especially those with significant co-existing health disorders or opioid dependency.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bring your addiction medicine expertise to develop the capacity of our services and contribute to advanced care of the population in the Nelson region.
  • Have three years of experience assessing and managing the medical complications of addictive disorders and implementing a range of treatments in addiction environments.
  • Hold Fellowship or Membership of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, or equivalent.
  • Be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate and Vocational Registration of Psychiatry, or equivalent with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
