CNC Mill Setup Operator-Manufacturing Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Setup Operator to join our team at Waterford Executive. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC Mill machines to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and operate CNC Mill machines to produce parts with precision and accuracy.
  • Align vises, fixtures, and indicators to ensure proper positioning and squareness.
  • Indicate the position of fixtures and parts to ensure accurate placement.
  • Set the Mill to the correct position using the right numeric code.
  • Perform dry runs to check programs for errors and make necessary adjustments.
  • Modify and grind cutting tools as needed to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Check the first part produced to ensure all dimensions are within tolerance.
  • Keep production running smoothly by deburring and preparing parts for loading.
  • Use downtime efficiently to check parts, clean tools, and prepare for the next job.
  • Prepare tools and fixtures for the next job, including getting new tools and regrinding tools from the tool crib.
  • Plan ahead for special tools and ensure they are available when needed.
  • Check for damaged tool holders and tools, and replace them as necessary.
  • Operate the machine with proper guarding in place and report any damaged guarding or tools.
  • Work safely and follow company Health and Safety Policy and good housekeeping practices.
