Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic, Journeyman to join our team in Bonnyville. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance and repair. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing complex issues, and ensuring the safe operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on vacuum trucks, combos, water trucks, tankers, skid-steers, and pressure trucks
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, after-treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems, and pumps
  • Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment, and replace or repair defective parts
  • Interpret work orders and prioritize tasks
  • Occasionally attend service calls in the field
  • Work alongside apprentices and assist in their development
  • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled

Requirements

  • Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman certification
  • Valid Class 5 license with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years
  • Class 1 or 3 license considered an asset
  • Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset
  • Experience troubleshooting emission system issues using diagnostic software (typically Cummins) is an asset
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Able to provide own tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of T&E pumps and Cummins, CAT, and Paccar engines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
