Job Overview

TEEMA is seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to lead our project controls team in Edmonton, Alberta. This full-time permanent position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to manage project metrics effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Controls Systems & Tools: Implement systems and tools to manage earned value management, cash flow, cost, revenue, forecasting, and scheduling.
  • Project Setup: Participate in project handover and kickoff meetings, contribute to commercial, administrative, and reporting requirements during project initiation.
  • Scheduling: Oversee scheduling processes to align with project standards and completion targets, manage schedule progression throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Progress & Cost Tracking: Conduct detailed reviews and analyses of project performance metrics, ensure timely reporting of project progress, forecasting, and cost tracking.
  • Scope & Change Management: Supervise project change management processes, including subcontractor claims, change requests, and dispute resolution.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial risks associated with project controls, contribute to risk mitigation planning and commercial risk assessments.
  • People Management: Foster a culture of respect and collaboration within the team, recruit, mentor, and develop project controls personnel.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • Experience: 10–15 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Skills: Expertise in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and cost control, strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
  • Leadership: A natural leader with the ability to build strong relationships quickly, proven track record of effectively leading project controls teams.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a clear and articulate approach to issue resolution.
  • Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with SAP and project controls software such as Primavera, Hard Dollar, Accubid.
