Field Service Technician

About the Role
FORTNA is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for supporting our LPS project and commissioning team in various areas, including assessments, commissioning, installation, preventive maintenance, repairs, training, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues with industrial control systems
- Perform repairs and maintenance in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications
- Work efficiently under the guidance of the Field Support Supervisor to complete tasks
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to subordinate groups
- Respond to technical emergencies and customer support at any time
- Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair equipment
- Perform work under minimal supervision and handle complex issues
Requirements
- Technical degree or 4-6 years of equivalent work experience in a skilled trade
- Technical certification in related fields or 4-6 years of equivalent work experience
- Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with individuals under duress
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manifests, BOMs, and mechanical/electrical drawings
- Self-motivated, detailed-oriented, and results-focused individual
Travel Requirements
This position requires up to 75% travel to various LPS sites and may include overnight stays. Travel is typically within the Greater Toronto Area but may occasionally require international travel.
