Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumber/Gasfitter to join our Site Maintenance team at the Red Chris Mine. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various equipment and systems around the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and gas systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Design, install, test, adjust, maintain, and repair lines, appliances, equipment, and accessories in various areas of the mine.
  • Manage systems for various gas and fuel types, including propane.
  • Maintain and repair appliances and equipment such as boilers, burners, makeup air units, furnaces, process burners, and various other gas-fired equipment.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel by performing minor building repairs and servicing around site, as required.
  • Install and repair propane piping and associated fittings.
  • Maintain HVAC systems to ministry standards.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement to enhance operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
  • The mentorship and training of apprentices.
  • Input timesheets, material information, equipment information, and work orders electronically via SAP.
  • Practice workplace safety.
  • A team player that works well with others.

Requirements

  • Red Seal Interprovincial Certification in Gas Fitter trade required.
  • Red Seal Plumber Certification.
  • BC Gas Fitters Class A license considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years related field experience required.
  • Experience in HVAC systems an asset.
  • Minimum valid Class 5 driver's license required.
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and MS Outlook preferred, SAP experience a distinct asset.
  • Experience in cold weather environments considered an asset.
  • Working at heights and confined spaces.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
