At CBL Solutions, we are seeking an experienced COBOL developer to join our team in Calgary for a contract position.

The estimated salary range for this role is $120,000-$180,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled COBOL developer to design, develop, and enhance rich user-interface applications with middle-tier and back-end processes and applications in a large, complex environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience with COBOL, .Net, Java, and iOS mobile development, as well as excellent coding, testing, and documentation skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and improve system requirements to ensure functionalities adhere to standard processes
  • Code, test, document, and deliver requested functionality changes or improvements to new or existing enterprise applications
  • Prepare user documentation and procedures for requested functionality changes or refinements
  • Work within established software development standards and configuration management procedures
  • Assist in creating system design and functional specifications
  • Provide functional support for applications as needed
  • Develop and test solutions, coordinate implementation, and report progress
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong knowledge of COBOL, .Net, Java, and iOS mobile development
  • Excellent coding, testing, and documentation skills
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
