About the Opportunity
This is an excellent chance to develop your skills in railway engineering as a co-op student at CP.
Job Description:
- You will be responsible for assisting operations of LiDAR Collection and creating yard schematics from Google Earth across the system using AutoCAD.
- Additionally, you will assist in asset enrichment template creation and data entry, as well as travel across the CP network (Subury, ON to Vancouver, BC) and work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage your industry knowledge to locate, understand, communicate and summarize industry agreements.
- Create detailed yard schematics from Google Earth across the system using AutoCAD.
- Develop and implement asset enrichment templates and perform data entry tasks.
- Support operations of LiDAR Collection.
- Travel across the CP network and participate in Hi-Rail with Roadmasters and Inspectors learning day-to-day engineering railroad operations.
- Possibility of being away from home office for up to two weeks at a time while traveling the network (all costs covered by CP).
Requirements:
- Must be entering 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of studies in a Civil or Mechanical Engineering Program.
- Valid Driver's license required.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure are essential.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing work schedules.

About Your Salary:
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $55,000 to $65,000 annually, depending on your location within the CP network. This compensation package includes all expenses related to travel and accommodations when working remotely. A drug test is mandatory for new hires to ensure a safe working environment.
