Wenco International Mining Systems is a leading provider of cloud-based solutions for the mining industry.

The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Cloud Operations Manager to lead our team of engineers responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of our cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate the cloud platform to ensure high availability and performance
  • Maintain and operate CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient software delivery
  • Implement and operate cybersecurity controls to protect our cloud platform and customer data
  • Lead critical incident response and management of cloud costs

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading a team of DevOps and/or Site Reliability Engineers for a commercial high availability SaaS product
  • Deep understanding of AWS cloud architecture, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, and Cybersecurity
  • Experience leading the implementation of ISO 27001 and/or SOC2 controls and participating in audits
  • Experience conducting security audits, risk assessments, and security incident resolutions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience designing and implementing OKRs to achieve team performance
  • Experience leading and influencing decision making with data insights
  • Ability to support communication about cloud systems and cybersecurity concepts to Wenco's mining customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives, including adoption of automation, monitoring, and incident management tools and practices
  • Experience with projects under the Cloud Native (CNCF) Landscape
  • Experience leading and collaborating with globally distributed teams

Education and Eligibility

  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology (or equivalent)
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • This role may require some travel to customer sites or international Wenco offices (~10%)
