Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Social Worker to provide comprehensive assessment and treatment services for children, adolescents, and transitional aged youth with mental illness disorders. The ideal candidate will possess a Master of Social Work (child focus) and have a minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for clients
  • Provide evidence-based therapies, including CBT and DBT groups for children and adolescents
  • Maintain current information on community resources and linkages with relevant social service agencies
  • Collaborate with treatment providers, including physicians, schools, and other community organizations
  • Provide short and long-term therapy and case management based on client needs
Requirements
  • Master of Social Work (child focus) required
  • Membership in OCSWSSW required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in child and adolescent mental health
  • Strong clinical skills, including assessment, counseling, and discharge planning/community integration
  • Knowledge of CBT, DBT, and Solution Focused Therapy preferred
  • Strong Family Therapist background
  • Knowledge and skills related to crisis intervention
  • Demonstrated previous group experience with this population
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development
  • Demonstrated ability to document according to college standards
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently and be self-directed
  • Working knowledge of current best practices for addictions treatment
  • Demonstrated capacity to deliver culturally sensitive and appropriate patient care
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Knowledge of Halton Community Resources an asset
  • Excellent employment and attendance record
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills
  • Knowledge of DSM as it relates to the child and adolescent population
  • Previous experience with electronic documentation preferred
