Job Summary:

Ainsworth, a leading provider of construction services, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to join our team in Sudbury, Ontario. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for estimating and pricing commercial renovations and retrofits from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project specifications and mechanical drawings to accurately estimate costs and materials needed.
  • Develop detailed and accurate quality take-offs and cost estimates for commercial renovation projects.
  • Collaborate with construction managers and project teams to ensure estimates are accurate and meet project requirements.
  • Obtain equipment and subcontractor pricing to ensure competitive bids.
  • Prepare final estimates for review and approval.
  • Visit job sites to review estimates and ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare change orders and process them once accepted.
  • Manage multiple smaller projects simultaneously.

Requirements:

  • Licensed tradesperson or combination of education and work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in estimating.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with plumbing and boiler codes.
